Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time RN position that is based at the Pulaski County Public Health Clinic in Ullin, Illinois. This position is responsible for the coordination of communicable diseases, tuberculosis, immunizations, laboratory services, OSHA, and safety programs within the Southern Seven Health Department. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, investigating, and surveillance of local reportable diseases and outbreaks.
Qualifications: The applicant must have a valid Illinois RN license; preferences will be given to an applicant with a BSN and/or previous experience in a public health setting.
Job Duties:
- Takes the lead role in receiving communicable and chronic disease reports, including reviewing reports to detect unusual patterns and/or outbreaks and daily monitoring of Illinois National Electronic Disease Surveillance Systems (I-NEDSS) for new and ongoing communicable disease case investigations.
- Serves as the local administrator of I-NEDSS and is responsible for setting up and monitoring accounts as well as providing training to staff.
- Coordinates the tuberculosis program; including monitoring of all active and latent TB cases assigned.
- Implements and monitors infection control program for public health clinics.
- Coordinates immunization program in accordance with CDC regulations. Oversees storage, handling, and administration according to policies, procedures, and standing orders.
- Serves as the OSHA Coordinator for public health clinics.
- Coordinates laboratory services at all public health clinics according to CLIA standards.
- Coordinates and provides instruction and monitoring of CPR courses for public health division.
- Follows all policies and procedures related to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the agency.
