Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time position that is based at the Administrative Office in Ullin, Illinois. This position does come with a benefit package, including vacation, personal, and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan.  

This position is responsible for creating, coordinating, and implementing public relation initiatives within the agency with the goal being to increase awareness of services, strengthen image and branding throughout the service area, and to increase utilization of individuals receiving services provided by all programs and grants offered by Southern Seven Health Department.

Qualifications:  The applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, or an approved related area AND at least one year of previous experience in working with the media.

Job Duties:

  • Works in conjunction with the Executive Director to create, coordinate, and implement a media and public relation plan for the agency.
  • Leads the in-house Marketing Team for the agency by facilitating meetings and gaining input from the team members.
  • Visits all sites and attends meetings in order to have a very good understanding on programs within the agency.
  • Completes outreach activities for all programs but not limited to health fairs, Child Finds, local events, Recruitment Days, etc.
  • Participates on various committees to help plan and implement events such as but not limited to Seven County Staffing, Training Days, Open Houses, etc.
  • Works with the administrative staff to develop and create advertisements for newspapers and brochures.
  • Coordinates a calendar of events for the agency and makes it available to staff.
  • Creates a social media plan which includes regular posting and campaigns to increase followers.
  • Submits monthly agency press releases.
  • Speaks publicly at interviews, press conferences, and presentations.
  • Works with the Executive Director in reviewing and analyzing data for grants/programs and assists with strategies to increase utilization of services.
  • Assists with monitoring and updating of agency website.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the agency.
