Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time position that is based at the Administrative Office in Ullin, Illinois. This position does come with a benefit package, including personal and sick time accrual, holidays, health and life insurance, and an employer sponsored cafeteria plan.  This position provides confidential clerical support and assists with the administrative functions and communication for the agency Human Resources area.

Qualifications:  The applicant must have at least an Associate Degree in a Secretarial Science, Human Resources, or an approved related degree.

Job Duties:

  • Receives and distributes personnel letters/mailings and records all changes in the data bases and reports.
  • Maintains all personnel files according to agency policy and government regulations.
  • Creates job postings for vacant and new positions and posts them on job boards.
  • Sends out evaluation forms on a monthly basis to the supervisor and employee according to evaluation schedules.
  • Assists with keeping job descriptions current and updated.
  • Tracks all applications as per Affirmative Action Plan requirements.
  • Prepares orientation materials and assists with conducting new employee paperwork and orientation.
  • Assists with open enrollment periods and answers employee's questions relating to benefits.
  • Represents agency at job fairs.
  • Assists with clerical support in the office (answering telephone, receiving and distributing mail, duplication, etc.).
  • Receives phones calls from applicants regarding employment application status and job openings.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the agency.

The applicant selected for this will be required to pass a Basic Computer Skills Assessment.
