Bus Driver
This position is a summer, part time (27.5 hours per week for the summer) position and is based in the Union County, Illinois. This position will provide a bus routes to and from the Migrant Head Start program in Dongola and Jonesboro, Illinois programs. This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of children according to all of the laws and regulations.
Qualifications: At a minimum a High School Diploma or GED is required and the applicant must be at least 21 years of age WITH a current Illinois State CDL license and an Illinois State Bus Permit.
Job Duties:
- Utilizes a checklist for children to ensure that all children are accounted for when entering and exiting the bus.
- Inspects and maintain bus on a daily basis and meets all requirements as outline by IDOT, Secretary of State, DCFS, and Head Start Performance Standards.
- Maintains emergency information bus files on each child on the bus.
- Conforms to all DCFS and Head Start Regulations as outlined in Bus Manual.
- Reports potential problems and concerns to the Site Supervisor and Transportation Specialist.
- Ensures bus is kept clean, neat, and safe for the transportation of children.
- Any other duties as requested or assigned to meet the requirements of the Head Start program.
