Southern Seven Health Department is seeking applications for a regular, full time Accounting Technician position that is based at the Administrative Office in Ullin, Illinois. Position Summary:
The Accounting Technician is an intricate part of the Fiscal Department. This position works under the direction of the Fiscal Officer with primary responsibility for public health grants budgeting, accounting and billing operations.
Pay Range: $21.61- 23.12 hourly
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting with experience OR Bachelor's degree in Accounting with minor in computer-related field.
- Prefer candidate with at least 3 years experience
Job Duties:
- Prepares monthly or other reports and provides accurate and timely information within area of responsibility as required by the Fiscal Officer
- Posts the following into the MIP system: cash transfers, bank charges, interest earned, and general and administrative charges
- Monitors expenditures according to budget and spending plans on assigned programs
- Analyzes General Ledger (revenue, expenditures, accounts receivable and payables)
- Works in conjunction with the Purchasing Specialist to maintain an accurate equipment inventory list. Responsible for assuring the accuracy of disposals, additions, and yearly depreciation
